The Kansas City Star Quilts is a tradition that started in 1928 and printed the finest in quilting patterns.
The patterns were a weekly feature in until the mid-1930's. More than 1,000 had been printed in seven states.
We thought these patterns should not be lost to the archives of yesteryear and have brought 1000 of the collection together here in one place, digitally reproduced in PDF.
Having the collection means you can mix and match. Now please keep in mind that these patterns date back some 90 years and will show the wear, tear and the love of time. However, this amazing collection is still worth having for any quilter or quilt restorer for such an affordable price.

Tips for Sewing:
Take time to pin: Until you become an expert in sewing tiny clothes, take time to pin the seams before sewing.
One pin will keep the shorter seams together and one or two maybe needed for longer ones.
It will help you keep the pattern pieces lined up properly.

Hand Sewing vs Sewing Machine: Faster: Yes a sewing machine takes far less time than sewing by hand. But hand sewing might be better for small projects like buttons. Machine sewing will get you the straightest line possible. Many sewing machines also have different stitch patterns.
